Just one more day before the start on Thursday of the Stockholm Archipelago Raid 2015. Teams are arriving in Stockholm as we speak and boats are being prepared. Wednesday evening their will be a skippersmeeting in the harbour at the KSSS where everyone will receive the latest information about the weather predictions, track, waypoints and more…
Last night organizer Lars Linder (Chairman F18 Sweden) and his son Max (15 years old) have been busy with the final preperations. About 60 waypoints have been plotted on the Archipelago area and a final race tracks will be determined every day based on the weather conditions. GPS coordinates in digital format have been distributed to the sailors to make it easy to upload them into the GPS devices. In this race it’s absolutely necessary to have a GPS on board becasue of the shallow water in some areas.
Also media coverage is on track. Max Linder will join Jasper van Staveren to make sure daily updates will be provided online. Not only photos and daily reports will be there, also the GPS tracking will be available after races. All sailors are requested to have the RACE QS tracker APP installed so after each races the data can be collected and uploaded to the tracker system. Data can be analyzed here.
