Our attention has been drawn on the promising initiative from Nacra Sailing, built in conjunction with Yacht Club de Saint Tropez, aiming to ease Youth participation in next Worlds.
The F18 New Gen event, to be held 19-22 October during Les Ailes de Saint-Tropez, is reserved for 17-24 years old teams, and will permit to provide the winners with a ready to sail Nacra Evo to enter 2025 Worlds in Noordwijk.
Purpose is to provide youth sailors between 17-24 years old the opportunity to keep on racing on a high level after outgrowing the youth sailing classes. Not only outgrowing, but also sailors in this age, who go studying, working, budget no allow, love/life, etc…
Format
- This regatta features 16 teams racing on a heat system using four Nacra F18 Evolution cats provided by Nacra Sailing, with a dynamic swap-on-water racing format to keep the competition fair and exciting.
- The regatta includes three qualification days, where teams will battle for their place in the final race.
- On the final day, the top teams will compete for the prize of a free Nacra F18 Evolution to race with during the F18 Worlds 2025.
No doubt this upcoming test event will have a future!
