The FIRST F18 Raid Worlds ever will be held from August 5-9th 2017: The Stockholm Archipelago Raid will be the host and teams from various countries are expected. Especially the option to parc your boat in Stockholm after the F18 Worlds 2017 in Denmark makes it very attractive to join. The winning team will be crowned as best long distance F18 raid sailors in the world!
Key features 2017:
- The raid will be tougher, longer and more demanding compared to passed years with 4 intense days of sailing and up to 10 legs (they aim for 2 or 3 legs per day)!
- A spectacular course out into the wilderness of the archipelago, three base camps on different islands and finish line in the heart of Stockholm!
- The maximum number of teams will be raised to 50 (subject to change)!
- There will be two classes: male and mixed/female, but only one team can win the title!
Practical information:
- Teams attending F18 World Championship in Vallensbaek, Denmark a few weeks earlier only have a 7 hours drive to Stockholm. Cars, trailers and boats can be left on a secure parking in the Stockholm area from mid July until the raid starts.
- Early-bird registration starts in January (date to be confirmed) and ends in March. In case of over booking slots will be allocated according to number of active paying F18 members in each country and when the registration was completed. After March slots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
- The costs have not yet been possible to establish, but the aim is to lower or fixate the cost from 2016 (9500 SEK / team including food and beds), to offer rebate to youth teams and teams participating in the World Championship in Vallensbaek in July.
