During recent F18 Europeans organised by Circolo Vela Arco, battle has been tense not only among the top three teams, but also among the contenders for Mixed Team title.
At the end of the qualification round, Pablo Galyas & Isidora Urrutia (CHI) were the leaders with 63 points, 7 points ahead Arthur Boc-Ho & Laetitia Lefevre (FRA), and 8 points ahead Mikko & Kirsikka Raisanen (FIN).
Unfortunately for them, Laetitia get wounded at the hand by a competitor boat, making the French Youth team unable to sail the Final Races in the Gold Fleet, when it was a close fight between Mikko & Kirsikka and Pablo & Isidora, the two teams being within one point at the end of the first day of Finals.
So last Final race made the cut, the Chilean team attempting a risky start, and being scored UFD. Room was then wide open for Mikko and Kirsikka, finishing 23rd overall, 19 points ahead Brit pair David White & Megan Smith, and getting the coveted title of first Mixed Team, congratulations to them.
