From US Formula 18 Catamaran Association President
Registration is now open for the 2021 F18 Americas Championships to be held at Alamitos Bay Yacht Club in Long Beach, California, from Sept 7-12, 2021.
This championship will consist of a long distance practice race on Sept 8 and four days of buoy racing from Sept 9-12. Check-in and boat weighing starts on Sept 7.
ABYC is known for outstanding winds during this time of year typically from 10-20 kts with the wind building as the afternoon progresses.
We have already 18 boats registered (most carried over from the postponed 2020 event) and expect around 40-50 boats to race. After a year of on/off lockdowns this is your chance to get back out on the race course for an epic regatta.
Many thanks to our major sponsors for this event:
- Murrays.com for catamaran hardware and gear
- USF18 Class Association
- MBYC Multihull Fleet
The early bird discounted registration fees is applicable through April 30th so register now to save $50.
New for this event is a boat transportation subsidy for people traveling more than 1,250 miles (1,600 km) for this event. The total budget for this subsidy is limited so it will be disbursed on a first to register & pay, first to receive the subsidy.
So if you are traveling more than 1,250 miles sign up & pay the registration to get on the priority list for this subsidy. See section 7 of the NOR for details.
