Mission Bay Yacht Club was recently hosting traditional Cat’s Fight event, and no less than fourteen F18s entered the regatta. Thanks to MBYC organizing committee, F18 values prevailed and sailors have been provided with both excellent racing, thanks to Race Committee team, as well with happy hours and nice dinner, in a very friendly atmosphere, permitting long exchanges on future class developments.
With four bullets and three second places, Bill Hardesty and Bryan Paine left no chance to their fellow contenders Brandon Wallace/Mark Umemoto and Sten Sorrensen/Michael Risoer.
This dynamic fleet is the result of the thorough work Steve Stroebel started some years ago, and four brand new boats will expand the group in the coming weeks, for teams aiming to enter the 2018 Worlds to be sailed in October in Sarasota with the best winning chances.
Further, and thanks to the F18 Fleet Captains actively working in Long Beach and San Francisco Bay, it is now possible to gather more than 30 boats in California, largely increasing regattas interest.
